Should Sony leave hardware biz and become only publisher?

With the decline of the PS2 and low software sales on the PSP and slow PS3 sales the Sony publishing empire is a shadow of its former self. I say they ought to ditch the worst 1/3rd or 1/4 of their developers to cut costs.
