"Zack & Wiki is a point-and-click game, which most gamers acknowledge as a dead genre when it comes to gaming nowadays and isn't really popular."
I'm going to nit pick here and disagree. the genre isn't dead. It's forgotten. The genre just got caught in a disruption. The FPS disruption. FPS were in a way cheaper to produce. PnCA were getting so advanced that it was expected to have voice acting, marvelous special effects. The puzzles also became zany just to be not predictable for the hardcore fans. Essentialy the games became to "elite". They were actually thinking of multiplayer with the next iteration of Space Quest. With the FPS rising fast and showing to produce more money for less work. Well of course it was left behind.
With todays growth of the casual gaming. A relaxed PnCA would be welcome. If done right. Zack and Wiki while a good game was not done right. The style was just to over the top for most NA customers. The puzzles areas were linear. Where as old time versions could have you hold onto items for half the game. The game seemed more like a series of mini adventure games with a tie in rather than large adventure.
Anyways I agree with Rol.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
