Nintendo's R&D. No, they aren't spending all those hundreds of millions on gaming hardware and software research. They're spending it to launch orbital mind control laser satellites into space.
How else to explain why tens of millions of people are buying and playing games with a metascore of 80 or even lower? It's a scientific fact that all of these people would have more fun playing GTA IV or Gears of War, but the lasers are telling them that they want Mario Kart Wii.
