The NA X360 game selling capacity will more than make up the game not being available on X360 in Japan. The sheer weight of numbers in NA will see X360 outsell PS3 3 to 2 for RE 5 worldwide, just like GTA IV did and many other top selling games.
RE5 being very shooter based should see it sell well in NA mainly on X360 which outsells PS3 version of most multi-platform games 2 to 1 in favour of X360 over PS3 in the United States of America which is more or less the entire North American region.
RE5 having popular online co-op and MP components that sell extremely well on X360 should see it heavily outsell PS3 version of the game in USA. Combined with the attractive price of X360: starting @ $200 which is around half the price of PS3 @ $400.
Expect to see X360 and PS3 have a small boost in hardware due to the RE5 launch.
