I'll just quote myself from another thread:

Now to those people who scream "oooh SE you fail !!!".
They (SE) released the game (SO4) on the 360 for a reason. They knew it would not sell that many copies in Japan, but they surely received a bunch of money from Microsoft. Besides that the game engine was practically paid by MS. Never forget, MS published Infinite Undiscovery together with Square Enix.

The Last Remnant uses the Unreal 3 engine and SE had huge problems with porting the game to the PS3. However for a mediocre JRPG The Last Remnant sold great and you can't deny that. Even Infinite Undiscovery made a nice profit.

I agree. The Last Remnant was a technical mess on the 360, I can't imagine how it would look on the PS3 unless SE works very hard on it. Seriously, I really don't see why porting those games at high price on the PS3 would do them any good. They'll end up selling like Eternal Sonata, Bioshock or Dead Rising Wii. Ports of old games don't work.
