I think it's far too early to really be proclaiming anything. Do we know what Star Ocean 3's launch was like in NA? PAL?

We only have 3 weeks worth of data - 1 NA week, and 2 JP weeks. That's really not enough to base a lot off of. Is 60k in NA a disappointment? Yes. All we can do is hope that the NPD adjustments push it higher.

Nevertheless, Star Ocean 4 had the 2nd best NA launch, and the best JP launch of any 360 JRPG. PAL will be an interesting launch, but we'll have to see.

BTW, if your going to bash SO4 sales on 3 weeks worth of data, we might as well begin to bash failzone 2, as well. Since it was a massive dissapointment with it's budget costs.

I am sorry, but didn't Garnett get banned for saying that very same thing?

Killzone 2 is also tracking better than it's predecessor, on a much smaller install base.

Before anyone begins to complain about that....

I only used that wording because people are enjoying bashing Killzone 2 because of it's debut just like they are Star Ocean 4. We don't have week 2+ data in Western markets, so we have no idea how SO4 or KZ2 will track, so it's way too early to say 'stick a fork in it! It's done!'

For all we know, KZ2 could have great World At War-type legs and sell 3-4m or more. Or it could be the next Haze. We don't know. Likewise, Star Ocean 4 could plummet like Tales of Vesperia did in the US (58k opening, 120k LTD), or manage great legs like LO or BD have had, and score above a 6x multiplier in NA. We also don't have PAL sales. What if they pull a TLR and match NA sales? Would it be a bomb if it sold 350k in both NA and PAL and 250k in JP for a grand total just below 1m? Again, there are multiple paths for every game, and it's gonna take 2-3 weeks in every territory to see what's going on.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
