Can I nitpick?
It's actually around 8.6 million, according to VGChartz. And even if you counted Others as Europe, it's still at 9.9 million...
And consoles tend to sell well in their second, third and fourth year, if they are really successful. Not quite as much later. So 50 million in europe is out of reach, unless something unexpected happens.
