Let's check the Maths.

Others: PS3 97,819 - XBOX360 97,669. Difference 150 units for the PS3

NA: PS3 66,003 - XBOX360 76,795. Difference 10,792 units for XBOX360

Yes we don't have reports from Japan, but the previews looks like a 30k for PS3 and 13k for XBOX360, so that's a difference of 17,000 for PS3. It's not damage control just simple numbers.
