The question is posted in the subject -- why come out with a Wii version of Hawx one year after the other versions have been released? Did Ubisoft get caught off-guard by the Wii's popularity? Or did they decide to make a cash in? And how much do these delays in releases (this is not the first) explain why Wii versions of multiplatform games explain why the Wii version often does not do as well as the others.

Ubisoft only finished the Wii version of the Tom Clancy game engine late last year so the delay with H.A.W.X. is due to that factor.
The game was conceived and began development back in late 2006 when the Wii version was never considered. It wasn't until the Wii was a proven success did Ubisoft decide to port their Tom Clancy game engine to Wii and from then on out ALL Tom Clancy games will see a Wii release.
