Cheers Jimmy, I do know not to take BMI as the be all and end all, and I'm not trying to gain heaps of weight, but I would definately prefer to put on a bit of muscle

When I was a teenager, I wanted to increase my muscle mass and found this routine pretty successful:

Hi Protein breakfasts might be the best way.  When I was a teenager I helped to build my muscle mass by having higher protein breakfasts: Get up earlier in the morning to prepare some eggs, have a couple slices of toast (whole/multigrain) with peanut butter, and a bowl of rolled oats (oatmeal).  If you have weights, you should do reps at very high weights, without straining yourself of course, until your muscle group you are working is exhausted.  This will only take 5-10 repetitions.  Repeat a few reps if you can.

Also try to have some tuna or salmon 30-60 minutes before lifting weights, as they are very high in protein and easier to digest than meats such as chicken or beef.

Just some suggestions for you

Thanks, I'm vegetarian, which makes putting on muscle harder, but I shall try all the other suggestions
