I think people grossly underestimate the potential of a Pokemon MMO. Even if it is a big franchise, there are two things going against it - the pay to play model (requires parents to pay monthly), and its appeal for home consoles/PC. We know how big the Final Fantasy franchise is, yet it only managed ~500k. On the other hand, WoW's subscriptions are pretty damn close to Pokemon Diamond / Pearl sales.

Anyway, WoW's revenue got even more ridiculous thanks to WotLK. I wonder when the damn thing will start declining, it's been over 4 years. Everyone I know that quit got back into it thanks to the expansion, I'm being pressured to do the same...
