To be honest if we look at it from a business point of view i'm not sure the game did as well as you try to paint CGI. We all know the game had a lot of money put into it both developing wise and advertising wise. Here in the uk it had £2m spent on advertising alone. That is a lot of cash. If we then assume say 35% of those 375k sales are in UK means around 125k were sold here. 125k times £30 = £3.75m. Now if you take away the £2m advertising = £1.75m left. Now the assumption is that KZ2 development costs were $60m by a lot of people

(no doubt your disagree)
So if we use the UK estimate numbers the figures would be at $3.5m made back towards that $60m. Meaning that it will need to re-coup $56.5m from the other regions.
Now we don't know how much was spent on advertising everywhere else so it has to be estimated/guessed at. But if you look at it from a business view you have to assume the game probably won't make a profit IF THE GAMES DEV COST WAS $60m. If it was $20m then there is a chance it might break even eventually.
So if it doesn't make a profit then surely that has to be seen as not succesful?
Sales wise the game has done great. But it is the equivelent of saying someone did great if they go down the bookies and get winnings of £1m but they lost £3m in getting it. Which of course would not be good at all.
