Until then, after playing it several hours and earning trophies, it's an awesome game, but why compare it to a game that came out nearly 2 years ago? I would hope it did better - but still - it may (I was blinded by fanboy bias in the *writer's* comparison post) outpace it but KillZone will never, ever have that kind of following.
A better game? Yeah - it's had much more time to get it polished and the like.
A better franchise? Not even in the same galaxy. |
I guess you didn't know the Halo 3 was in development since the original Xbox days. Killzone 2 was in development for 3.5 years (2 of those years were full scale production). In other words, they both have been in development for about the same amount of time.

You phail at reading comprehension.
Did Halo 3 just come out? Was KillZone 2 out nearly 2 years ago? Was Guerilla sitting on their thumbs with the finished product the day Halo 3 hit? So what about development. How long has Halo 3 been out? Once it's out, you can release patches, but KillZone was still in development until it went gold a month or two ago.
It's like Oblivion, Bioshock - the later releases should look better than the original. My heavens - did you just read over everything else?
The game *may* look better and even play better than Halo 3, but I didn't see local news talking about Gamestops overflowing with fans. If it hits 1M for the opening week, I'll be shocked.
