 Germany on its own has a greater export industry than the US. Let alone the rest of the EU.

 

Yes but most of the German export goes to other EU countries. The EU has rufly an equal size export industry as the US if you exclude export within the EU.

 

 Well, obviously, which is why the EU is so great. If it ever gets to the point that, statistically, people would exclude intra-EU exporting, then the EU's export industry would already be larger than the US's (basically, by the time the EU becomes a federal country, it's export economy would be much larger than the US's).
