From a business standpoint, that doesn't matter. The reason why these games sell so much on PS360 is that the 3rd party publishers are jumping through some insane hoops to get advertising, hype, and lots of intensity into the games themselves. Sales are up, revenue is way up, but profits? No.

 

There are certainly many who profit on the HD consoles, but these are largely the companies that stick to formulas, like Activision-Blizzard. Even EA, the king of formulaic development, had some bad losses last year, as did Take-Two. Ubisoft i think was in the black, but that's because they already have a fairly substantial share in Wii development (which is slowly becoming a share of good Wii development, and not just their Petz/imagine junk). SEGA was in the red, but that was due to a lot of screw-ups on the HD side of the line (though i could be wrong on that)

 

Basically at this juncture: PS360 = revenue, Wii = profit, and in this economy, the latter speaks far louder than the former, whereas previously when credit was easier to acquire, it was a harder decision to make.
