If a game lives up to expectations then it is not over hyped, so I can not agree with your list. I would say a more realistic list would be;

-Lair
-Too Human
-Grand Theft Auto 4
-Haze
-Halo 3

All of those games were hyped massivly by their respective fanboys, and each of them failed to meet expectations.

Games like;

-Killzone 2
-Metal Gear Solid 4
-Gears of War 1 & 2
-Little Big Planet
-Mass Effct

All lived up to the hype around them and in turn, they are not over hyped, but hyped on good merit.

Excellent list. Personally, I'd have to mention Bioshock. It started as a step back from System Shock 2 and ended as a fetch quest, lousy boss fight and then a laughably bad ending (evil).

I like your posts more every day.

As for Bioshock, I think the first 2/3rds of the game deserve some credit. Rapture is possibly the most engaging game world ever (maybe the Wastelands from Fallout 1/2 are better but it's close) and the beginning of the game is definitely engaging.

But you're right. It's System Shock 2 for retards. Too bad, really, because that game had so much potential in its world, political and philosophical undertones, and antagonist (whose death happens to coincide with the game turning to shit).
