YES! I agree that the HC/Casual gamer- nonsense is just a clever way to categorize the gaming public into two arbitrary and ambigous groups, and it doubles as an convenient excuse as to why a certain game fails/succeeds/whatever. And, consequently, one of these groups is always (attempting to) ruin(ing) the industry, from a fanboys point of view. Sanity is for noobs, etc.
It's a shame many people aren't as open-minded about gaming as you are. But then again, the internet would be a much more boring place if everyone could respect others and their opinions.
Exactly. They're buzzwords, just like AAA-game is, for instance. The best (and perhaps only) justification for buying a gaming device is, IMO, that it either has the games you like, or it will have the games you like.
Pretty much this, again. Marvelous can develop for any platform that it wants/is able to, and if they can make great games, more power to them. And at the same time, Wii is perfectly able to support games for gaming enthusiasts and has proven this already with several sublime titles. Any developer with a half a brain should be able to see this already, even if they don't want to support the platfrom for one reason or another.
No reason to apolozige - your post was probably one of the sanest things I've seen on this board, let alone this thread.
