@shams, don't be cynical pay attention ok
WE ARE NOT ALL CHILDREN, HOTD SOLD 80k in 1 1/2 weeks
All i can say is thank god someone took a damn risk with it. Thank god the Wii isn't all shooters. There were alot of PS360 gamers who were jealous of this being on the Wii. Alot of people liked it, maybe if they knew it existed and it was available at a shop then it might have sold more. Maybe if HOTD didn't kill the competition for that 1st week when Wii core buyers flocked to the higher profile game instead of the game that had little effort or made little noise when it was released.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
