Getting disconnected is a rare event, it isn't a big deal to punish the innocent a little bit if it means that half of matches won't end prematurely. Does it really matter a lot if someone loses some points due to their router going down?

The cost/benefit analysis is pretty easy on this one.

 

 

 

It's okay to punish the innocent if you only do it a little? Come on, man, you honestly think that? I don't think it's okay to punish the innocent under any circumstances. However, like Machina-AX said, Starcraft's system is fine. I don't understand why people don't use that system.
