Actually in IGN's Nintendo podcast last week, they specifically stated that enemies frequently will just stand their and ignore you and said it was just terrible AI. Not some demo where they show off the controls, but actually in game you can walk right up to a zombie and stand there and they don't activate. They stand there and do nothing. And that it's not an infrequent chance occurrence, but a regular occurrence.

Frequently could still be a small percent given the large numbers of enemies. I'll have to play it myself to be sure though.

But the gameplay video show enemies going after you frequently. Plus the 360 version has zombies sometimes not react when you go up to them.

This is a far criticism but you also see this in MadWorld.   Partly it's done on purpose because the fun is in killing the zombies (or punks in MadWorld) not in being eternally hoarded to death by them.

Still, that video of them casually mowing down unmoving zombie's isn't very inspiring.

This is why I really recommend we all (myself included) try the game before passing any judgement. If some of us still aren't having fun, then we don't buy it.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
