The registered accounts on PlayStation Network reached 5million in 1 year and 2 months, 10 million in 1 year and 8 months, and exceeded 20 million in only 2 years and 3 months from the service launch on November 11, 2006*1
edit: wait... math is wrong.. one second
Based on that paragraph, Sony is saying that since July 2008 The Playsation Network has been signing up 83,000 new accounts a DAY!!!
Anyone else think thats a little high??

Nope sounds right for how awesome a machine the PS3 is. Oh and you can just sign up online. I am sure half of those people signed up to flame KZ2 on the sony boards lol

Its actually 47k... and that does sound more realistic then the 83k I had first miscalculated.
But now you're looking at 329,000 new accounts every week, or 1.4 MILLION new accounts every month for the last 7 months

It might not be out of the question to think it could achieve that number between legitimate newcomers and dupe accounts. For instance, consider the Killzone 2 demo fiasco brought to you by Gamestop. That probably caused a lot of NA users to make EU accounts.
