Not that I'm trying to nitpick here, but as I recall, that idea was actually introduced in Chrono Trigger, where, in the Japanese version, it is said that the Zeal royal faimily dye their hair blue by tradition. In this and many other cases Chrono Cross makes a lot more sense than people give it credit for, though I admit it's writing is still far from good.
Anyway, as for FF XIII, I'm keeping my eye on it since it was announced for the 360, although that trailer made it look more like a bad anime and less like something I would actually be interested in. Still, if it's good, it might be my first FF since the dissapointment that was FF VII.
