I rang the support number for Ireland, waited 15 mins and then was put through. Started giving my details and when she said "yes we can repair it but it will cost 100pounds because you are out of warranty" I like in Ireland and not the UK, she's like "oh sorry that's my fault" so the deal for Ireland is a 60GB replacement model for a 160 euro fee, and I'll recieve an email in 2-3 days telling me what I need to do.
A fee I don't mind, but this better not be one of those 3 week waits resulting in getting a damaged but working console : / One of my friends who went through the same thing got a Ps3 with a smashed casing as a replacement.
