What about VC and Disgaea 3, or how about Eternal Sonata. WKC was released at the peak of the holiday, and it recieved HUGE marketing from Sony, given their lack of JRPGs, they had no choice but to go all out, this was their Gears of War 2 for Japan to capitalise on the holiday period. The IP excuse just doesnt hold, this game has blown away ToV sales, which is a comparable or even bigger franchise

Regardless, a business is here to make money, but to make money it needs sales. Lets not lose focus here, ive just explained how the 360 was a cheaper and easier choice, hence they will make MORE money off every copy sold than they wouldve have on the PS34. How can you ignore that

In fact youre quick to say that the game wouldve sold much better in Japan on PS3, yet you cast doubt on it in NA? Double standards?

Regardless, you have a point, but im just saying that its a lot more complicated than saying the PS3 has a bigger userbase in Japan

You know Disgaea 3 hurts your argument right?

It is an SRPG, fact is they sell less.

In the US it is only 20k behind Vesperia, about half of The Last Remnant, about 3x less than Blue Dragon. Yes Lost Odyssey has sold over 500k there but it was also advertised, as was The Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery.

Guess how much that niche SRPG recieved? None that I know of, yet it is on par with the JRPG releases on the 360 in the US.

Now if an SRPG can sell that well in the US on a smaller userbase no less, just think of what a high profile JRPG can do.

Eternal Sonata is also a very very weak argument bro. It released over a year later.

Valkyria Chronicles is also an SRPG, which do not sell as well as JRPG. It has sold 350k. That is only 100k behind IU, 200k behind TLR and past Vesperia. Scratch that, Vesperia has not had its EU release yet. Although same goes for Disgaea 3, which will be published by S-E, that should increase sales for it.

Remember once again, it is a very niche genre which sells less than JRPGs.

You really just hurt your argument really bad just now.

Not sure how long you have been here, but it is well known that you can not directly compare SRPG to JRPG. It is as weak of a Japan RPG comparison as you can get.

And yet IU and TLR have done extremely well in all regions = S

You like to look at the worst case scenarios for the 360 and the best for PS3? Again, double standards. You do realise that ToV on 360 has beaten every other PS Tales game in NA, i can say that Tales is also a niche game
