EDIT:Reason for my prediction.Blu-ray showed this christmas its a hot item.I expect 2009 to be even bigger.A cheap(er?) PS3 will sell like crazy.If Microsoft doesnt respond to a Sony pricecut during Christmas,I think sony could gain as much as 1.25 million just in that span of time.

However,this is all just a wild guess.Pricecuts could happen at any time.

That would only be valid if the PS3 were the cheapest Blu-ray player on the market and that is no longer the case.

You can buy a basic Blu-ray player for just $200.00.   And a Blu-ray PC optical drive for just $100.00.
