There are many things wrong with your argument. I don't really care what squilliam was up to but the idea that something is going to "save" the ps3 needs to die. Ps3 is alive and kicking regardless of what those BS news stories tell you, therefore, it doesn't need to be 'saved'. Also, I'm yet to see anyone on here claim that GoW3 would "save" the ps3 so don't conjure stuff up and try to pass them as what others said.
Lastly, if userbase was such an accurate prediction of sales, how come MGS4's sales are ecclipsing mgs3's with 1/4 the userbase on a "dead/dying" console to boot LMAO. Why do games like cod:waw sell better on the "dead" console than the one everyone is buying? Demographics are probably a more sensible way to predict sales than userbase. it's only in the cases of similar demographics that userbase wins. this is why 360 sells more software than ps3...they have the same demographics. Ps2 had lots of casuals that were "filler"base not userbase for the sake of this argument and it also had a very wide demographic.
