It is the way of the world, to the bigger series go the spoils and the cooler acronym.

GOW 1+2 have sold a combined total of 10.44 Million.

GoOW 1+2 have sold a combined total of 5.65 Million.

GOW has almost sold double what GoOW sold over two releases each.

So as the natural progression of things, just as MK now means Mario Kart instead of Mortal Kombat we must accept that GOW means Gears of War because when it comes to acronyms the size of the series does matter.

Yeah, but God of War came first (and is a million times better :P) Changing it now would only cause confusion. I've always abreviated it to just "Gears" anyway...

lol I hate when people use acronyms these days. Can't tell if GOW means gears of war, god of war, guild'o wars, guys on weed, etc.

In which case... Gears still wins so uh....

Well to be fair they are both games with good gameplay and crappy stories.

However at least Gears doesn't pretend it's story is good.

GOW can be used for either god of war or gears of war just as MK can be used for either mario kart or mortal kombat lol
