This confuses me. I've played multiple first-person games on the Wii (Medal Of Honor: Heroes 2, Metroid Prime 3, Red Steel, etc) and I've never had any trouble aiming. Maybe the sensitivity wasn't adjusted correct or something? I believe the Wii's IR tracking and motion sensing are pretty good.

I concur that there must have been something wrong with your setup -- if the IR sensor is "all over the place," or even if it jumps and flickers in the slightest, you have a setup problem. I've seen this happen with my sister's high-def TV, which has a black glossy base it sits on, and she or her husband had put the sensor bar on that reflective base; as soon as I saw them navigating the Wii menu and noticed the cursor jumping, I saw their problem and moved the sensor bar on top of the TV where it couldn't reflect, and it solved it immediately. Remember that the "sensor bar" is actually misnamed, since it doesn't sense anything but just emits two points of IR light, and if there is anything reflective under or near them (or even a bright lamp sometimes) it will completely screw up the remote's ability to pinpoint the location of the TV.  

The IR has always been perfectly precise and steady with my system, and it should be with any, barring some problem with your room / setup.

Can you also tell me then the differences between the current controller and WMP (1 : 1 precision and such, before I yet again think it implies something it is not is)?
