I can't imagine KZ2 being set in one type of location i.e. industrial, considering KZ1 had varied environments i.e. industrial and jungle etc.
I like to think of it as a planet type. i.e. like Mars - the planet as a whole is quite similar in the environment. Maybe Helgast is a barren wasteland? The Helgan did have to overcome sickness and disease to survive the environment.
Anyways, from what I have seen. It looks war and that is the game.
