I think the 50$ price drop made a better push than the Halo3 launch will do
Microsoft need to offer others games type than "Xbox games"
NGS2 fans are people who played the NGS1 before on Xbox
Halo3 fans are people who played the Halo1/2 before on Xbox
I'm not saying that Halo3 will not have great sales particularly in NA.
I'm saying that Halo fans are in general Xbox owners and are in general Xbox owners.
It is the same for the Mario and the Wii
BUT
it is quite different with the PS3
FFXIII fans are PS2 owners BUT are not PS3 owners (not enought games + too expensive !!!)
Microsoft need to conquer the PS2 owners market and, in this purpose, having in his pocket the game of the year, BIOSHOCK, is a better weapon than possessing the sequel of a NO PS2 game like Halo.
