Words Of Wisdom said: Weird thread. ARF is looking better but I had decided I'd be getting it a while ago. I like JRPGs and there are too few for the Wii right now to miss supporting this one.
Tales stories are mediocre, not awful. They're full of cliches and they won't be winning any awards in my book but they're fairly entertaining once you lower your expectations a bit.
Code Geass is a good anime with a solid plot and very nice animation. I don't like Ledouche though. He makes too many mistakes to be as cocky as he is IMO. |
Thank you! We needed these words of wisdom. Tales game are far too overrated on this forum.
I like Tales games, but they are still a B-rate series.

B? not at all.
Yes, the story isn't FF "-" (insert any FF beside IX/VIII/XII), but they are an absolutely great JRPG series. "A" Grade.

It's just that even the best Tales games have a noticable lack of polish that FF, DQ, and SMT games have.
|
What are you talking about? Other than TotA(no I didn't play the game), I don't there was a Tales game that had technical issues.
|
A lack of polish isn't just technical issues (which Tales of Vesperia has aplenty), but other things in the game.
To expound on Vesperia's issues, it's mostly framerates drop. Whenever I'm fighting a group of enemies and Rita casts Meteor Storm, and I use some fancy artes. The frame rates drop well below 20. It takes a lot for me notice issues as I'm pretty tolerant of those things.

I'm still confused on what being polished means exactly. I know technical issues is a sign of a lack of polish but you say that there are other things in a game than indicates polish(or lack therefore of). I hope I'm not bothering you by asking this but what are the other things that indicate polish?
