If Dead Space Extraction was going to be a third person shooter, you were automatically going to label it "awesome" without knowing anything about it, because obviously a third person action/horror port could never get fucked up royally on the Wii (Dead Rising: Chop till you Drop is about to say hello most likely), but now that it's a rail-shooter, it's automatically bargain bin? They are Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and House of the Dead Overkill.  Both of them sell for $46.99 on sale at Amazon, making their retail price $49.99. Full price! RE: UC came out in the fall of 2007 and is still full price, however that TPS RE4 is closing in on the bargain bins because it's retail price has dropped $10 to $19.99.

 

-Wii has a serious shortage of TPS games

-Any game can get screwed royaly

-I'm actually more interested in Dead Rising than Dead Space now, both are crap but at least Dead Rising doesn't play itself

-A rail shooter isn't worth $50... maybe $20 at most

-RE:4 is a last gen port that kicked UC's butt in the sales department, this also brings up the fact that everyone was mad that UC was on rails and not TPS too.

-RE:UC isn't even on Best Buy's web site any more.... yeah very successful.  Oh yeah RE:4 is still there, $20 but the game is 5 years old.

TPS on Wii: Iron Man, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Scarface: The World is Yours, Godfather: Blackhand Edition, Driver: Parallel Lines, Transformers: The Game, Escape From Bug Island, Alone in the Dark, Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed, Lara Croft Tomb Raider Anniversary, Tomb Raider Underworld and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent.

Total=12

Light gun shooters on Wii: House of the Dead Overkill, House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Target: Terror and Ghost Squad.

Total=5

Hmmm...seems to me there's a bigger shortage on light gun games than TPS games. Try again.

2. A rail shooter not being worth $50 to you doesn't make it "bargain bin". A game in the bargain bin is a heavily discounted game, usually $19.99 or less. RE: UC and House of the Dead Overkill do not qualify, they are the closest comparisons to what Dead Space Extraction will be, thus you have no basis to call it a bargain bin game.

3. I wouldn't call RE4's 1.64 million over RE: UC's 1.24 million exactly "kicking butt". They both did pretty damn well and show there is a large audience for both genres when done right. You have proven nothing here.

4. I don't know what basis Best Buy has in the scheme of things. I've already proven RE: UC is still being sold, and still being sold at full price, and has done very well commercially, so what is your point? Go check Amazon yourself if you don't believe me. Just because a website with a smaller stock doesn't carry it doesn't mean it isn't being sold. I went to the website that matters, and they sell it.

I really don't get what your argument is. If you don't like rail shooters, just say you don't and leave your peace. It's annoying watching you, among others attempt to speak for the rest of us and what our tastes are. Some of us really like light gun shooters and are welcoming of their comeback on the Wii. If you don't like them then just don't buy them, and wait for a TPS to come along that interests you. If you don't get any you like and the 12 I mentioned don't interest you, then save your money and buy a console that has them down the line. Calling this game you know nothing about "bargain bin" is childish, considering the trailer that was presented was of high quality and it's based on a high quality IP made by the original team. There is no logical reason to believe this will be of poor quality unless you thought Dead Space was crap to begin with, which would make me wonder why you care in the first place.
