There are a few elements that the game has and some that it doesn't. I mean honestly you want too much Mr. OP. Explaining a word with no definition while explaining ourselves to YOU!? Wow. The underlying issue is why make a thread about it at all unless your being naive or aggitant.
The game is 'meh'? Context is ruler supreme and in that context described by you 'meh' is already answered, for people who use 'meh' to describe a game with the context you provided; those people aren't 'first day buy' nor are they ' this game sucks.'
Why? Because. that's their opinion, you want an explination on that opinion? Simple, they didn't see what they expected.

It's simple, nothing here hasn't been done before by someone else, this is the first time it's being all given in one serving - except the offline multiplayer.
(Art direction doesn't seem to yell anything but "I'm super generic" as well.)
