 Actually they already said one of the original cast will be taken out. I think its going to be Ness as Lucas might replace him as that was the original plan for SSBM.

 But I would rather have Jigglypuff taken out. He was cool at first because at the time Pokemon was really popular and besides pikachu, Jigglypuff was the next most memorable. But now its not the case and its time for the fat puff to leave the building.
