"Indeed. I am claiming they could do much better on the animations and collision detection for example. That's obvious from the official videos released so far.

A few months ago I wasn't bashing this game. I was hoping they'd improve on the screenshots they released. Now I'm almost sure those hopes didn't come true, and on top of it the game actually looks to have bigger problems than I expected. But I must be just a basher right?"

No, you're stating your reasons for this. I think those minor details could have been helped. I thought you were claiming the game could look several times more detailed, the way others did.

I'm pretty sure they could improve on several aspects which would make the game be much better than those videos show.

There are videos where few of the enemies are moving (even without being higher speed car scenes). Surely the Wii can render more than a dozen low-detail enemies and make them all move?

Zombies are supposed to be slow and stupid, so the AI shouldn't take away any significant amount of CPU power... How much AI does it take to make a Zombie move in your direction and attack? Surely AI is not bottlenecking the game to the point the videos show.

Then there are the issues I mentioned, which make the game look like a total unprofessional mess. There's an animation in which an enemy is flying everywhere, seemingly with no continuity frame to frame. There are obvious problems with the collision detection even in the videos the OP posted.  This game looks like a mess and I don't see why they would release those trailers as they are now.

I agree more work could be done, although if the 10/90 rule applies, I can see why they skipped it (the last 10% of the game takes as much time and effort, and therefore money, as the first 90%, although I might remember that wrong). Although they did delay it, there was still the matter of maximising profits. Capcom reported just barely making profits this year, so they need more.

I meant earlier the claims the game could look like RE4, just because of the engine. They completely ignore scale. GTA IV had loads of time and money, but the character models are not as detailed as Table Tennis, even though they have the same engine and TT came out first.

DR Wii could look better, but in the little things, not the big picture.

But try it anyway (I'm going to before I buy). If you aren't having fun, the lack of animations wouldn't matter. If you are having fun, same thing.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
