They must support sales as much as strictly necessary to keep new games coming and avoid a downward spiral. This need satisfied, even with a cut if strictly necessary, obviously they won't cut prices easily anymore before production costs aren't low enough. This is still a difficult period, I'm not meaning due to the crisis, but regarding costs, but as time goes by, despite PS3 remaining more expensive to build, components cost difference will lower up to a point retail price difference won't matter so much.
