Total  5,181,222        up 28.9%

So in a rising market the Wii is taking off, the 360 is follwing that market and the PS3 is falling hard...  if this was extrapolated over the whole year it would be very ugly for Sony...

Solutions? Well.... obviously the only one that will turn this is a price cut?

But is it too late? Are the buying habits of this gen set?

Thoughts??

Sony needs to add price cuts around the time of sales boosts (3rd & 4th quarter). The 1st and 2nd quarter should go properly for Sony because of great anticipation for Killzone 2, InFamous and a couple other expected games. Really and truly if you want my opinion, wait to spell out Sony's fate for 2009 after E3. This one will be the last and I believe that they will go out with a bang.

true, xbox 360 can outsell ps3 all year long but if sony came out with a big worldwide price cut right at the end of the year like say in november, they will easily make up all the lost sales and eventually start closing the gap again..... until microsoft cut the 360 price to $50.
