I was a bit surprised that the PSP has only seen software shipments of 200m. From April 2006 to December 2008 they had shipped 35m PSPs and 149m PSP games, an attach rate of 4.25.
The fact that the overall attach rate is 200m:50m (4:1) means that the first 15m saw shipments of 51m games which is about 3.4 games/PSP.
DS started with an attach rate of about 2 but it has since climbed to about 5.5. Ultimately, I suppose that is the evidence the disruption worked, as a jump from a 3.4 to 4 attach rate is pretty small, even on 50m systems, while the jump from 2 to 5.5 on 100 million machines is huge.
GBA is sort of in between DS & PSP. The attach rate is about 4.63 - 377.13m GBA games shipped for 81.46 GBAs.
