Despite some rampant fanboyism this is an interesting thread. However I think Sony fans are putting too much empathize on 2008's line-up.

I'm not denying the PS3 has a great line-up, very arguable better than 360's or Wii's (although Wii in particular hasn't really been revealed yet and there's probably a lot of 360 we don't know yet either). However, assuming PS3 wins the best games in 2008 award, what then?

They are in solid last place now. Wii is dominating. Developers are shifting resources to the Wii where they can make more games quicker, cheaper and with a much larger base than the PS3 has (or 360 to a lesser extent).

Yes, a lot of AAA games will continue to be developed for the hardcore crowd buying 360/PS3 almost all multi-platform to defer the high costs. Buy how many? Will the PS3 (or 360) have many if any (non-first party) exclusives in 2009? Will there still be the volume of AAA games we are seeing this and next year or will Wii support drag that to a crawl?

Developers are making decisions for '09 and '10 games now, and if I was a developer, I sure as heck wouldn't invest 20+ mil on a PS3 exclusive game based on todays market. I might for the 360 if Microsoft coughs up the dough.

Just a couple months ago I firmly believed PS3 would win Japan (easy) and Europe, lose America but still finish 2nd by the end of the generation. May still happen, but based on what we know now, I for one wouldn't put any money on it.
