Not really. Master Chief has been going to war for nearly thirty years.

 

Nearly thirty years? Over thirty years. He was kidnapped by the USMC at age 6 with a couple of his friends because of his immense height. He's 42 at Halo 3 time, so that would mean he has 36 years of military experience.
