I don't see any evidence of that. Right now I see an entire industry mostly satisfied with their near meaningless ratings with a few people who complain about them. Even vgChartz is now sporting its own meaningless numeric rating system with reviews.

You missed the point again. He is not talking about video games at this point. He is talking about things like books and plays. Actual literature.
