This is a good point. It's unfortunate that people feel the need to pick a side and defend it to the death and not give anything else much of a chance. And even more unfortunate that some of these people will go to the extent to find or make up reasons to downplay the other options.
I've been gaming for a long long time...and I just love playing the games and it doesn't matter to me what system they are on. It shouldn't matter to anyone that fancies themselves a gamer, and its really unfortunate and unhealthy for our small population.
My advice, don't let it bother you and certainly don't allow yourself to become narrow-minded. Be willing to look for all the great gaming experiences that can be had...on all the different consoles. There's no reason to miss out on a great game because you have to choose a side and put up blinders.
