Capcom dev said: "It's not that a Wii version would be impossible," [said producer Yoshinori Ono]. "And we're not ruling anything out, but looking at the main target we're trying to hit with this game, users are more likely, from where we're sitting, to own a PS3 or 360 than a Wii. Are there fighting game fans who own the Wii, especially in north America? If there are, we're more than willing to do something for them. But it seems like a safer bet to go with the PS3 and 360, and the PC is more a European-centric thing, so we don't want to leave regions there out." http://www.gamegrep.com/news/10293-street_fighter_iv_for_wii_not_out_of_the_question/ Now, don't go a throw a fit saying that he shouldn't generalize the Wii. We all know the basic make up of the Wii userbase. It's getting old to say "Why isn't game X on the Wii? It would SURELY outsell the HD versions". I think Ono is right too. It's just like saying "How many shooter fans are on the Wii?" Then it becomes apparent that most shooters should stay on the HD consoles. You should all be realizing that the Wii is selling NOT because of games like the ones that "should" be on the console.....otherwise they would be. When you see that it's Wii Fit and the like that sell 10+ million, instead of games like CoD, you'll understand why these games aren't on the Wii.

That Capcom guy is wrong though. Fighters sell better on the Wii than on PS360. What's the best selling fighting game this gen? Super Smash Bros. on the Wii. Dragonball Budokai Tenkaichi 2 & 3 sold almost 1.5 million combined, which are good numbers for a second rate fighting series. Also, the best selling street Fighter is on a Nintendo system: the SNES. The Street Fighter games are on the Wii's Virtual Console, and selling well.
If Capcom would aknowledge this, they would see there's major potential in bringing Street Fighter to the Wii. But they screwed up.
