I've never understood these types of posts. Did you honestly take a moment to read what we are suggesting before deciding to take the intellectual high ground by comparing other media to the video games listed? No, of course not. You saw an opportunity to insult others with a cheap jab and took it. The reality is that the posters here are suggesting games with strong narratives in comparison to other Wii games and attempting to help the OP/OP's friend by naming a game he might enjoy. So congratulations, you defended a position no one was attacking and no one in this thread cared to argue. Oh and you managed to completely avoid saying anything helpful or useful to the OP. Well done. Go troll elsewhere. |
There's no talk here about finding a wii game with a "compareatively" powerful narrative. All that was asked was a "powerful narrative".
There's no point of offering suggestions just for the sake of listing games with narratives that while better than the average game, are still CRAP. It speaks of a sort of desperation when one has to say "comnparatively". A game, movie, book, what have you with a powerful narrative should stand on it's own as having a gripping storyline and not be named simply because it is better than a 5th grade attempt at writing.
If we chose our doctors, scientists, technicians and film directors based on the fact that they are mildly better at what they do than the average Joe flipping burgers at McDonalds our society would not get very far.
If you really wanted to do a fair service you simply would have said that, I'm sorry, but if you're friend is looking for "powerful narrative" (again, see keyword) then he will not find one for the Wii, and arguably very few for either HD systems. Maybe rephrasing the question in your answer as "however, in comparison to most wii games the following have better storylines, albeit still very weak by most other literary standards".
Simply listing games because they are slightly better in a certain regard than most others (that are trash) is not doing a service to anyone. It's the equivalent of saying "Hey, my crap is better than yours!!".
