There's an huge diference buddy. Community games are made individuals, not huge teams. Guys who usually are starting at developing, and want to show their work to the community.

edit: btw, you gave Dishwasher's example... Do you know a funny story behind that game. The author worked at "washing dishes" in a restaurant. He entered MS competition and won 100K pounds.
He no longer washes dishes.
