As far as Community games go, I think the difference between them is that Community games don't have achievement points. They are pretty cheap though.

There's an huge diference buddy. Community games are made individuals, not huge teams. Guys who usually are starting at developing, and want to show their work to the community.

 edit: btw, you gave Dishwasher's example... Do you know a funny story behind that game. The author worked at "washing dishes" in a restaurant. He entered MS competition and won 100K pounds.

He no longer washes dishes.
