Has anyone here downloaded any community games?

Are there any sites reviewing them?

Which ones do you like?

The only community game I downloaded was the massage game, but I haven't played it.

I've bought about 8. My favourite ones are:
Groov
Weapon of Choice (this one was mande by a guy from Naughty Dog team, and it looks like a XBLA title - high production values)
Colosseum

Me and GF are addicted to Groov. It's a very simple game, which takes influences from Rez and Geometry Wars. And it *is* cool....!

Only community game that I cared about was The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, but that got pulled and is being turned into an XBLA game.




As far as Community games go, I think the difference between them is that Community games don't have achievement points. They are pretty cheap though.

There's an huge diference buddy. Community games are made individuals, not huge teams. Guys who usually are starting at developing, and want to show their work to the community.

 edit: btw, you gave Dishwasher's example... Do you know a funny story behind that game. The author worked at "washing dishes" in a restaurant. He entered MS competition and won 100K pounds.

He no longer washes dishes.

Thanks.  The review site is really helpful and I have been thinking about buying some games, but there are quite a few now so it is hard to weed the good from the bad.  Too bad, people who buy the game couldn't put a rating on each one they buy to help guide people.

What you said is a very usual request among us, XNA enthusiasts. You're right, a rating system is a must.
Give the help you can to it mate, if you're not in a position to buy them, at least give them a try a talk about the good ones with your buddies.

(there are some broken ones, but don't let those spoil the idea, it is a great system, need improvement, but it is a start!)
