I think of it as an accomplishment, the same reason why you beat a game in the first place, for the satisfaction of getting to the end and finishing the story.
so after beating the game you have another goal, and thats to gain points that get logged towards your Gamertag/Profile for life.
It shows my accoplishmnets and how I went the extra mile to get my points.
