Resident Evil 5, an aged experience?

I think the game strayed too far from what has made it so great. They are trying to make it too much like all the other games. I don't want another COD, Halo, Killzone, Gears, fast paced action packed guns blazing shooter. I want Resident Evil and they seemed to forget what brought the franchise to the dance of being able to have 4 previous successful games.

The blood splatter looks pretty horrible too as does the animations for shooting someone and the quick inventory system is just not Resident Evil. I can't understand why they would change the inventory system that they have had for so many generations of Resident Evil other than trying to be like every other game. Hopefully in the final game the select button which the demo did not utilize will bring up the regular inventory/map system. I also hated the fact that I was picking up ammo every two seconds yet I was still managing to almost completely run out. That means there was way too much shooting going on. I miss the days of RE1 when bullets felt so precious that if I wasted one I would be mad at myself.

I don't mind having a sidekick in other games but again it's just not resident Evil. They seem to have made a pretty decent game, but they did a lot of things that just isn't Resident Evil. If I am gonna die I don't want some bitch running up to me and injecting me to save me. It takes the whole feel of it being SURVIVAL horror away. And it feels more like a shooter now than a survival horror game. I hope that bitch dies in the storyline. That would be awesome. And I don't need a totally buffed out Chris Redfield. He looks gay.

And It's funny how the own creators of the game forgot the controls of Resident Evil 4. It was x that shoots and square that runs. Don't get why they would call control type A based on RE4 and then go and switch the buttons for no apparent reason.

This was my #1 most anticipated game out of any other game to come out last year or to be coming out this year and I don't even think I am gonna buy it first day now. I may rent it or wait a while and get it on sale. I'm sure it will be fun, but it's not what I was hoping for in a Resident Evil game. I'll go back to playing RE4 with it's non-HD graphics. They took out a lot of what differentiates the Resident Evil series from all other series. And besides the graphics aren't even that great. I'll wait to play the whole game before i judge but I don't think this game will compare to RE4.
