It's a valid point, even the original XBox had a harddrive for developers to take advantage of. Most developers agree if all 360s had a harddrive to take advantage of (data caching) it would significantly up the 360/PS3 multiplatform potential. Likewise with regard to Blu-Ray vs DVD storage space.

The Cell is different, it's a processor which requires good game engine design, something which benefits all other multi-core and multi-processor architectures out there. The Cell does not limit potential in any way, it just pushes game engine designers to develop more effectively.
