Firstly the review is correct on all counts. Specifically due to one unalterable fact he is providing a service to his audience. That audience being comprised of core and hardcore gamers. A audience that holds its games to a higher standard of quality not a lower one.

How do you know what the audience is? Do you have data? Or are you just assuming that only core and hardcore gamers would care enough to watch a TV show about games?

And could it be that the show took a turn that drove anyone who did not have an Xbox 360 by the turn the show seemed to take favoring that console in 2008.

I watched loyally for three years -- 2006, 2007 and 2008.  I never had more than a  Wii.

I finally could not take any more and turned it off -- a New Year's Resolution that I have kept (that makes two in my life. The other was to eat more fruit with my lunch).  The show started pro-Wii, was neutral, then became about as "fair and balanced" as something else claiming to be that -- if you know what I mean.

I liken this to Game Informer. It's own surveys show that it has more readers who own Wiis than PS3s. (The most ownership is Xbox 360s). This was true for both single and multiple console owners. However, the PS3 has received far more coverage -- both favorable and in total -- than the Wii.  So they are not playing to their readership here, but rather their biases.

That being said, I think a 2 would have been in order for the game.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
